NACI Seminar on Science Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy

The National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI) hosts a Seminar on Science Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy. The seminar will be held on the 5th of October 2016 at Sheraton Hotel from 18:30 to 21:00.

NACI has invited three international experts on STI policy to be part of a panel discussion on the following topics:

  • The Policy Mix for Innovation (Ms Claire Nauwelaers, Independent STI Policy Expert, Belgium)
  • Innovation Policies for Societal Goals (Prof Johan Schot, Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), UK)
  • Methodologies for Policy Oriented Analyses of the National Innovation Systems (Mr Gernot Hutschenreiter, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)

The purpose of the seminar is to stimulate dialogue within the National System of Innovation (NSI) stakeholders and to reflect on progress made since implementation of 1996 White Paper on Science and Technology and subsequent STI policies and strategies. It is envisaged that the outcomes of the discussion will contribute to the Department of Science and Technology (DST) led process of developing a new White Paper on Science and Technology and a decadal Plan for Science Technology and Innovation.
